East Grand Rapids Screened Porch Addition

PHB Construction was hired by an established customer to remove a old under-spanned and rotted porch.

The old porch was carefully removed.

With the old structure completely removed more issues of wood rot were uncovered and completely repaired before the new framing was started.

Sturdy new posts and support members were added to start the framing.   The post bottoms were set on metal standoff's and screwed into the concrete.

The roof sheeting and hip roof were added to match the existing home.   All framing members were connected with steel reinforcement ties.

The new porch is trimmed out with matching scallops and new rot proof materials including crown moulding to match the existing home exactly.   Primered, 2 coats of paint, and new screen panels enclose the new porch.

The interior ceiling is stained knotty pine and vaulted to give the new room a beautiful new look.

The finished sunroom is ready to sip cool lemonade on hot summer nights enjoying a bug free new space.
